University - the only way to holiness.

In Germany when young people meet nowadays they ask  what the other one is studying and at which university. The fact that a person is studying is barely questioned. Everyone "has" to be in a university. As soon as you tell them that you are doing a apprenticeship or becoming a cobbler or carpenter you will be looked at as if you come from another continent. Studying in university is mainstream and a must. Very different to the 20s or 50s, when academics were rather a minority and craftsmen avocation was much more current.

The fact that the industry developed a huge amount during the last years plays a big role because craftsmen professions slowly but surely die, hence they are not beneficial any longer. Nonetheless, I believe that there are many professions which you would acquisite better in actually practically carrying them out rather then studying them. But nowadays there is a university course for almost every profession. Starting with light things as event management ending with courses as conciergism until one they there will be a three years degree you will have to attend in order to become a proper taxidriver.

And all of this just for the sake of saying "I have studied......"? Not everyone is an academic and that is perfectly fine and my personal believe is that no one should feel to have to excuse himself infront of society only because he did not go to a university.

Say Yes!

Say "Yes" for one whole day! It sounds really easy, and it actually is. The routine of your day is swept away. You go back to your childhood and just live off the moment. That is how life should be and it actually is most of the times.

A cosy atmosphere, you listen to the wood crackling in the fire place, there is a light smell of leather mixing with a tiny smell of beer. Voices in the background, becoming louder and louder but at one point they are silent, someone speaks through the microphone, everyone listens silently and careful. As soon as the sentence is over or even before, blood rushes through your body, it ends up in your head. Adrenalin is pumped up, your heart beats, the question that has been asked, is actually one you can answer. You want to shout the answer, but you know "the enemy is always listening".

People you have not known before are suddenly very close to you, you are one team, you are challenged together and every single one of you is important. You may win or loose, the important thing is the fun you have at the specific moment.

It was a one time experience, one I would not have liked to missed and one that would might not have happened if it were not for the game of saying "yes" to everything for a whole day.

You are who you are. Are you?

How often do you exist in this world? No I don´t mean the fact, that it is said that everyone exists seven times in the world, or let us put it more precise; that there are 6 people in the world that look very similar to you.

I mean something else; when you wake up in the morning and you look into the mirror  surprisingly you will find yourself on the other side. Sometimes you can not handle the person that is looking at you and another day you might think "oh you don´t look too bad today". You know your thoughts, you know how your voice sounds. You know who you are. But is there just one you?

No there are plenty. If you are in a room with 27 other people you will be in this room 27 times. Everyone of these persons has a different picture of you, a perception, an image of how and what you are. So considering the body there is just one of each of us on earth. But when turning towards the perception there are a million ones. Hence every person who will get to know you will have a unique image of you.

So are we who we are, or are we what others make us off their perception? ARE we? Or are we a just a perception? A perception that exists as often as much people we have met.

Is the apple green or red?

Women are not treated respectably at workingplaces and in general. Are they just flirt objects or actually capable of more? When is flirting just flirting and when is the boarder to harassment crossed? Last week a snowlawine started rolling in Germany. The politician and leading candidate for the next chancellor election Bruederle was flirting with a journalist. They were sitting at a bar, both of them had a couple of drinks before hand and he gave her compliments. A situation that has happened to thousands of politicians and man and women before. A situation that occured one year ago but only got place in the busy German newspapers this year and this week, some month before the election.
What is the real topic of this mountain of articles filling german newspaper? That women are not treated respectably or that Bruederle is defenitely not the right guy to candidate for chancellor.
